My favorite lines are... well, there are a couple
God hates the world (He hates you!)
And all her people (That means you!)
You'll eat your kids (Yeah, you'll eat them)
You hateful people
You every one face a fiery day
For your proud sinning (so just stop it!)
Enjoy it, it's hilarious!
Yes, this is genuinely from them: it's even listed as "featured" on their website.
Wow.

Re: God Hates The World
Quick question... everyone in the world is doomed, and praying etc won't help, then what's the point of singing about it then transmitting it on the interweb?
Re: God Hates The World
Ask them :)
I think I understand, somewhat, from my own days as a fundy..
I *think* that the point is to "convict" people (ie, make them feel dirty and sinful and in need of salvation), in the hope that they'll then accept religion out of fear/shame.
The key is probably realizing that "The World" doesn't literally mean the planet we're on; it means those people who are following the devil (ie, all those not in the church.
Using tactics such as this to convict people would be nothing too unusual in the groups I grew up with, although the lengths they go to in this song would be extreme.
However, there are two things that make me think I'm wrong about this: One is the line about "it's too late to change his mind" - which indicates that there's no point even thinking about switching sides. The other is the tone of the song - the music makes it sound as though it's meant to be sung in a church service, but the words are clearly directed at people who aren't at the service. I can't make sense of that..
Re: God Hates The World
You're actually not too far off from the truth zhasper. What these people believe is a very outdated form of Christianity which held that only a select few people would be admitted to heaven, and these "favored fortunate" were selected long before they were even born. It was God's will that they be blessed and admitted to heaven. One who was condemned could do nothing to redeem themselves. This form of Christianity lost favor in the late 18th century and was overshadowed by the more consiliatory "salvation through accepting Jesus" sects.
And these sick people just happen to believe that they are the only ones who will be saved. It just so happens that their church has about 70 members, but over 65 of them are direct blood relation to the Pastor, soooo.... in a country of 300 million... 70 people. They are not a very popular group.
And no, I believe that the world literally DOES mean the WHOLE world. Because if you're not one of them, in their eyes, you are doomed regardless. It IS too late to change His mind.
These people are the most offensive and disgusting hate group I have ever come across in my life. They make me sick.
Re: God Hates The World
Yes, predestination/Election... JWs still believe this, and I'm sure others do..
You contradict yourself though, slightly - if they mean "the whole world", they'd include themselves. Only slightly though, because I think we're both interpreting "The World" to mean, not The Planet Earth, but "Those people who don't follow The Lord"...
